Helena

Upcycling is a proven method for reducing waste on landfills. The concept behind Helena is to bring the used glass back to the table and give it a new life, exploiting the exceptional hygienic qualities of glass and adding a personal and friendly approach based in the concept of sharing.

Helena is born from simple cuts to a bottle of wine, using a base and a bottom in addition to the nozzle of the bottle. The center piece is made from certified chestnut wood and natural cork, allowing for an airtight seal between the wood and the glass. The wood from the inside of the center piece is reused as coasters for glasses made from beer bottles.

Helena was a part of Generation DECODE in 2015, winning also a silver mention in the A! Diseño Awards. It was selected as a winner of the iF Student Design Award 2016.
